"The funniest thing I ever read…fuggettaboutit!" - Sal Petraccione aka George PiCosta on the Sopranos.

(Based on the life of Fran’s Dad…Yup, a true comic crime novel….98% genuine Capo. I dare you to guess the one episode that is slightly exaggerated…and it’s not Fat Sue.)

Frankie Crooks, a down to earth Italian kid from Greenwich Village is torn between two worlds…the mob and law enforcement. Both hold intrigue, because he has one brother who is a highly decorated police officer and the other one who’s in the mob…and both want him to follow in their footsteps.

Frankie sees the humor in all this at the most inappropriate moments as he vacillates between a life of crime and being a law abiding citizen. with a first person tongue-in-cheek approach, Frankie’s life unfolds as we follow him through his escapades that leave him running for his life, both from the law and the hands of his strict Italian mother.

A mix between Catcher in the Rye and Analyze THis, this book leaves readers wanting the "bad" guy to win, while at the same time revealing what makes a criminal tick. Based on a true story, Frankie Crooks, lets you know what it’s like to be Almost a Wise Guy.

Note from Author: Hey Guys…my dad asked me to write this book on his death bed. I had four months while he was battling cancer to write it, edit it and read it to him. He heard the whole story before he died. I was nervous about writing it, since several mobsters were included…so the beginning of the book says, "The names have been changed to protect the author." Hey I gotta cover my bases.

Anyway, If you like to laugh, I think you will enjoy this book, and understand where I get my humor from. Don’t forget to read the foreward.
