Capo Update April 2011

PENGUINS, HUCKABEE SPOOF AND SHOWS GALORE.

Quote: “By the yard it is hard, but by the inch it’s a cinch.”
We all have challenges we face, if we take it just one baby step at the time it’s not so painful, we move forward and get it done before we even realize it. So are you ready? Start walking.” Or just watch this:

Action: Incorporate small positive actions every day into your life to get you toward your goals. Give yourself a nice pat on the back, hips, and shoulder or wherever the heck you want to pat yourself for moving forward.

Hey Guys,

Wow, April already and finally, finally no more snow! Thank God I was ready to smack somebody then hightail it to the Bahamas.

So many things happened last month and so many things are coming up this month, that I’m just very excited. Lots of stuff to mark in your calendars (or Ipads or whatever techy device you are using that I have no clue about.)
Check out all the shows, there’s bound to be a one near you!

1)     IMPOSTER ROUTINE AT DISNEY GETS ME “TRENDED ON TWITTER.”
Okay, so by now many of you know I got hired by Disney to be a guest speaker at their Social Media Moms Celebration. A convention where
300 top mommy bloggers gather to network, experience Disney, get a great swag bag and get to hear some fantastic speakers.  I was hired to pretend I was an “Overexicted Mommy blogger” who stormed the stage to tell her favorite Disney story, later to reveal I was a fast talker, and then tell some of my real crazy adventure stories. Ever perform in a room of Mommy Bloggers? Talk about power, these women are like Ninja’s with their phones and computers. Before the event was over I had been trended on Twitter. I had no clue even what that even meant and was ready to dress up for the occasion. But it was fantastic. I brought my 22-year-old son with me and he also loved Disney. Why? It was Spring Break and thousands of very happy college girls descended on the park. He was at Epcot Center and was picking up girls from every country! Even got a kiss from a cheerleader from Brazil for taking her picture.   Yes he was a happy camper, and I made a lot of new friends. Talk about a fantasy come true.

2)     DOING MARTHA STEWART & LARRY FLICK RADIO SHOWS…BOTH ENDS OF THE SPECTRUM.
And speaking of Martha….Word on the street, (and on radio) has it that Rosie O’Donnell is leaving xm-sirius Radio to do a TV show on OWN (The Oprah Winfrey Network.) Well my best friend, Janette Barber works on that show as her sidekick and producer…but she’s not heading to OWN with Rosie. She is trying to stay at XM-Sirius. She has been guest hosting the Martha Stewart Radio Show and had me on as a guest in my motivational speaking capacity and talking about my Cuppa Capo’s. Janette is normally wild and over the edge, but they kept her toned down. So I told my adventure stories and we kept it “Martha” clean (even through in some stuff about cooking which I know nothing about!)  Anyway, while I was chatting away in the studio was Larry Flick the host of the morning Jolt, Larry and I hit it off and a week later I was doing his radio show…his show is the total opposite, no holds barred. You can hear our interview at my website, I had a fantastic time and his fans are awesome.

3)     POLITICAL SPOOF ON HUCKABEE – FAST TALKER MEETS DOUBLE TALKER
So I get a call out of the blue from Fox News asking me if I’d be willing to do a political comedy spoof on the Huckabee show. Absolutely! I was told that I’d be hooked up with a double talker and we would act as White House Advisors explaining policy.  I was told to dress as a politician that could mean from Clinton to Palin but I choose a gray tweed jacket and some pearls. Went into hair and makeup and was transformed into a politician. The results speak for themselves! Check out the video at the home page of my website www.francapo.com and let me know what you think! (And not politically)

4)     SATURDAY, APRIL 16TH -CT- ROCCO’S –
My new dinner-comedy night comes to Connecticut

7)     FRIDAY, APRIL 29TH – WESTCHESTER – PIAZZA ROMA DINNER-COMEDY NIGHT, ME AND THE JJ RAMIREZ – THE LATIN LUNATIC
Up here in Putnam County, there isn’t much of nightlife unless you consider bowling or watching the deer crossings exciting. So at the request of many people, I decided to open up a comedy night at Piazza Roma..it’s been going strong for 2 years now, and the audience is great. Good food, good comics, good laughs and you can still drive home and watch the deer. It happens once a month on a Friday, check local listings. (Just had Joey Kola from Martha Stewart Show there). 10)     MAY 3RD NEW BOOK: MYTHS & MYSTERIES OF NEW YORK
Okay, so what does a flesh eating albino, a time traveler and me riding in the back of a cop car have to do with myths & Mysteries of New York? All things I had to do, or people I had to interview to bring you these unique stories. I LOVED doing this book, it brought me into contact with some really interesting people…and led me to uncover some pretty wild things about New York, that are more true than not! In bookstores May 3rd., or go to Francapo.com to order an autographed copy.

Okay, that’s it for now…hope to see you at one of these events!

Create a great day!

Fran Capo
